Christmas is Emmanuel..."God with us".
Because God is with us He is close.
Because God close, we receive His love.
Because God is close, we have Light.
Because God is close, we are close to Him.
Because God is close, we can boldly approach Him and talk to Him
Because God is close and we talk to Him, He can hear us.
We at Highland Park Christian Church hope that you have the JOY of KNOWING that God is close and that JOY will last ALL year in 2023 and beyond!

Galatians 4:4-5 - (NASB)
4 But when the fullness of the time came, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
5 so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters.

Artist: Pentatonix
Joy To The World (Unspeakable Joy)
Artist: Chris Tomlin
After singing a few songs, then as a congregation we read together aloud the following scripture...
Isaiah 9:2-7 (NASB)
2 The people who walk in darkness
Will see a great light;
Those who live in a dark land,
The light will shine on them.
3 You will multiply the nation,
You will increase their joy;
They will rejoice in Your presence
As with the joy of harvest,
As people rejoice when they divide the spoils.
4 For You will break the yoke of their burden and the staff on their shoulders,
The rod of their oppressor, as at the battle of Midian.
5 For every boot of the marching warrior in the roar of battle,
And cloak rolled in blood, will be for burning, fuel for the fire.
6 For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
7 There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.
The zeal of the Lord of armies will accomplish this.
Christmas Playlist - Week IV - O Come, O Come, Emmanuel
Pastor Harvey
Here is the text from the sermon -
Matthew 1:23; Genesis 3:23-24; Genesis 12:1-3; Isaiah 7:14; John 16:7-8; Revelation 21:3-4; John 1:5-9; Matthew 5:14-16
Matthew 1:23
23 “Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him Immanuel,” which translated means, “God with us.”
Genesis 3:23-24
23 therefore the Lord God sent him out of the Garden of Eden, to cultivate the ground from which he was taken.
24 So He drove the man out; and at the east of the Garden of Eden He stationed the cherubim and the flaming sword which turned every direction to guard the way to the tree of life.
Genesis 12:1-3
Abram Journeys to Egypt
1 Now the Lord said to Abram,
“Go from your country,
And from your relatives
And from your father’s house,
To the land which I will show you;
2 And I will make you into a great nation,
And I will bless you,
And make your name great;
And you shall be a blessing;
3 And I will bless those who bless you,
And the one who curses you I will curse.
And in you all the families of the earth will be blessed.”
Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name Him Immanuel.
John 16:7-8
7 But I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I am leaving; for if I do not leave, the Helper will not come to you; but if I go, I will send Him to you.
8 And He, when He comes, will convict the world regarding sin, and righteousness, and judgment:
Revelation 21:3-4
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,
4 and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
John 1:5-9
5 And the Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not grasp it.
6 A man came, one sent from God, and his name was John.
7 He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him.
8 He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light.
9 This was the true Light that, coming into the world, enlightens every person.
Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden;
15 nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house.
16 Your light must shine before people in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
