Job Part IV - We hear the last of Job's accusers today. Zophar tells Job he has a secret sin that he has to confess. Job responds to all of his accusers (no longer can we call them friends), then Job asks for an audience with God.
We continue to pray that you will invite Jesus into your life and make Him Lord of your life, if you haven't already.
And if you need to take care of this please call Pastor Harvey at 323-316-7131 and he will be glad to pray with you.

After singing a few songs, then as a congregation we read together aloud the following scripture...
Matthew 7:1-12 (NASB)
Judging Others
Prayer and the Golden Rule
Judging Others
7 “Do not judge, so that you will not be judged.
2 For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.
3 Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye?
4 Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ and look, the log is in your own eye?
5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye!
6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
Prayer and the Golden Rule
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
8 For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
9 Or what person is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone?
10 Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
11 So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
12 “In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.

Job - A Patient Sufferer - Part IV
Harvey Simpson
Here is the text from the sermon. We used many verses from Job 11-16 today.
Job 11:7-9 NASB - Zophar Speaks
[7] "Can you discover the depths of God? Can you discover the limits of the Almighty?
[8] "They are high as the heavens, what can you do? Deeper than Sheol, what can you know?
[9] "Its measure is longer than the earth And broader than the sea.
Job 11:11,13-15 NASB - Zophar Falsely Accuses Job
[11] "For He knows false men, And He sees iniquity without investigating.
[13] "If you would direct your heart right And spread out your hand to Him,
[14] If iniquity is in your hand, put it far away, And do not let wickedness dwell in your tents;
[15] "Then, indeed, you could lift up your face without moral defect, And you would be steadfast and not fear.
Job 12:1-4 NASB - Job chides his "friends"
[1] Then Job responded,
[2] "Truly then you are the people, And with you wisdom will die!
[3] "But I have intelligence as well as you; I am not inferior to you. And who does not know such things as these?
[4] "I am a joke to my friends, The one who called on God and He answered him; The just and blameless man is a joke.
Job 13:1-5,12 NASB - His Friends Words Are Ashes to Job - Offering NO Comfort
[1] "Behold, my eye has seen all this, My ear has heard and understood it.
[2] "What you know I also know; I am not inferior to you.
[3] "But I would speak to the Almighty, And I desire to argue with God.
[4] "But you smear with lies; You are all worthless physicians.
[5] "O that you would be completely silent, And that it would become your wisdom!
[12] "Your memorable sayings are proverbs of ashes, Your defenses are defenses of clay.
Job 13:15-18 NASB - Jobs Ultimate Hope Is in God
[15] "Though He slay me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him.
[16] "This also will be my salvation, For a godless man may not come before His presence.
[17] "Listen carefully to my speech, And let my declaration fill your ears.
[18] "Behold now, I have prepared my case; I know that I will be vindicated.
Job 13:20-24 NASB - Job Requests an Audience with God
[20] "Only two things do not do to me, Then I will not hide from Your face:
[21] Remove Your hand from me, And let not the dread of You terrify me. [
22] "Then call, and I will answer; Or let me speak, then reply to me.
[23] "How many are my iniquities and sins? Make known to me my rebellion and my sin.
[24] "Why do You hide Your face And consider me Your enemy?
Job 14:1-2,4-6 NASB - Life is Short
[1] "Man, who is born of woman, Is short-lived and full of turmoil.
[2] "Like a flower he comes forth and withers. He also flees like a shadow and does not remain.
[4] "Who can make the clean out of the unclean? No one!
[5] "Since his days are determined, The number of his months is with You; And his limits You have set so that he cannot pass.
[6] "Turn Your gaze from him that he may rest, Until he fulfills his day like a hired man.
Job 16:10-11 NASB - A Prophetic Message That Points to Jesus
[10] "They have gaped at me with their mouth, They have slapped me on the cheek with contempt; They have massed themselves against me.
[11] "God hands me over to ruffians And tosses me into the hands of the wicked.
